This is Sable's blog run by Sable's human (that would be me). Sable would like to tell her story about the horrific neglect and abuse suffered at the hands of a terrible person. And Sable's mom (aka the human) would like to thank all those that have reached out in support of Sable and our family. New pics of Sable
New pics of Sable, she's coming along much better and is looking healthier everyday! She is still on antibiotics and will remain on them for a total of 6 weeks. Amazing what a little bit of love, vet care, food, and medicine can do!
The pic above is my favorite! She was yawning. She looks like a vampire cat. I should submit the photo to True Blood.
Heather Goerdt and Paypal
I thought I would post some information about paypal. I have tried twice to recoup some money from Heather Goerdt for Sable's medical bills through paypal. The only eligible payment (within the last 45 days) I made to Heather via paypal was for $618.23. Twice I have filed disputes on this payment and twice Heather has fought me on allowing paypal to refund any money to me under the paypal buyer protection which if I'm not mistaken doesn't even affect her.
Paypal has denied my claims because they say they do not cover live animals. So for all the animal buyers out there who use paypal thinking they are protected by the buyer protection, don't believe it! Your only protection is paying by credit or debit card. Remember that "health guarantees" in breeders contracts are only as good as the word of the breeder....so as you see, the word of Heather Goerdt has provided nothing for Sable's care. Be sure you go to a reputable breeder that stands behind their contracts and actually cares about their animals rather than seeing them as a dollar sign collecting $2700 and fussing about $66.00 in paypal fees 3 months into the process. RIDICULOUS!!!!

I guess if Sable had arrived dead, maybe then paypal would have covered it. Besides Sable's neglect, this is really an issue of fraud. I feel I was defrauded because I was sold one thing and received something entirely different that as a result, I had to spend an additional $1900 in order to save Sable from the neglect that caused her conditions. It's really outrageous and it is very sad that Heather Goerdt who received over $2700 from me could not bother to spend as little as 5% for a vet visit to clear up Sable's fleas, her tapeworms, her pnemonia, her URI from the beginning of symptoms, let alone feed her so she wasn't skin and bones upon arrival. It was Heather's responsibility as Sable's breeder and her responsibility as a seller to provide what she advertised, which she did not, a result Sable suffered as did my family. Personally, I would have been mortified to send a cat to someone as sick as Sable was and I would do what it took to rectify the situation rather than fighting to do what is right and what is her responsibility. Heather Goerdt did not care what she exposed me or my family too.
I have had Savannahs for 5 or 6 years. I have two F5's and one F1. None of them have even had a cold let alone anemia, fleas, tapeworms, RINGWORM, pneumonia etc. I have never had fleas in my house. Ever. Not one animal. They are all fed well and are a healthy weight. Sable has been quarantined since she arrived home however had I brought her home after she arrived not only would she have most likely died (according to my vets) but despite the best quarantine procedures, fleas and ringworm spread. There is almost no way of avoiding that even in quarantine. Good breeders don't send out sick or infested cats.
My fight against Heather Goerdt is far from over. I will continue to pursue her, that is not going to change. People will have access to my story and this blog will not be taken down. I want people to know about my experience with Heather so they can be informed buyers when dealing with her and I surely hope anyone will think long and hard before dealing with her.

Heather and multiple vets
I thought I would post this email I received from Heather before Sable shipped. My husband and I have been reviewing the emails (I have them all) and this just really struck us when we read it. There was a delay in sending Sable and I received this email telling me about the delay. I have long speculated that Heather had taken Sable to two vets. I felt the first vet had turned her down on the health cert.
It appears to me that Sable's first attempt at getting a health certificate was by a female vet. The vet that finally did sign her heath cert had never seen Heather before. This email makes it pretty clear that the female vet Heather saw would not give Sable shots or issue a health cert because she was too sick.
I also thought it was odd that she was so insistent that Sable looked healthy in pics and also so insistent that I saw she was healthy from the pics that I have no idea when they were taken. I just felt it was a very strange thing to say, it didn't seem right. This email was from April 01. Sable was shipped April 9:

Sample is doing great. A vet checked her heart, Lungs, etc and said that she look great with the slight exemption of a tiny bit of flegmn in her nose. None in lungs.
The Lungs are 100% clear, so its very trivial. No fever, eatng normal, she looks very healthy ( as u saw in pics) she also is getting final shots and vet recommended delaying just a few days. She would have ordered certificate, bc she is healthy, but I said to wait and ensure that it will be perfect.
With slight mucous, new shots, shipping, and new home It's usually best to be cautious.
Also, our property received significant damage from storms and people are coming out to repair this Sat. Twice we were without water!!!
All in all, I hope to send her by wed for sure. I am sorry for slight delay, but I am sure you agree that, after this long, a few days isn't the end of the world. Vaccination will be done, sinuses clear and a perfect kitty on the way!!!

The Thank You card that ate Sable
I picked this up yesterday and it will be in the mail for the vet and staff at Blue Ridge. I think Sable is starting to really look better. I can't feel her spine as much now but her hip bones still stick out. She is definitely getting some meat back on her now though. I'm really happy with her progress and really unhappy with my hard wood floors in these pics!

Back To Sable
Sable is doing better everyday. I have worked quite a bit with her and she continues to get better. She is no longer being syringe fed (a milestone!) but moved on to being "finger fed". Today I got her to eat without any intervention and that made me very happy. So now I want to go from finger fed to plate fed. I think she is finally starting to gain weight and hopefully she will no longer be the skin and bones. I can't wait to see her at a normal weight.
I went out today and picked up a thank you card for the vet staff, they worked very hard to save Sable and I don't think I mentioned this before but on the 4th day of her hospitalization when I was at the end and could no longer afford to keep her in, they gave me another 24 hours for free. I thought I would mention that to everyone because not only is that remarkable, it is extremely generous and kind. It was in that final 24 hours that she turned around. I think up until that point, most people thought there was little chance of her making it long term. I was thinking of signing it by using a food dye on her paw and putting a stamp of her paw on the card to them.
She's up and playing some too and loves her bed. I tried the trick tonight that the vet told me about to give her meds. While in the vet's office, they were having a terrible time getting her to take meds and then a dog was admitted and when she saw the dog, they said she stopped and stood very still just watching the dog (I think she probably thought, geez what a big ugly cat) and then they were able to do anything they wanted to her. Well not for me. We brought Loki (aka The Dog) upstairs in the hopes that she would take her meds easier but she decided that Loki was far more interesting than med. She HATES her doxy med, she tolerates the other 3 prescription meds okay for the most part but the doxy is the pits to her.
Hopefully some pics tomorrow! I think her coat is getting better too and I've been cleaning her with grooming towelettes so some of that awful smell that she came to us with is gone. Not completely but it's about gone. Her and I have developed a strong bond. If I lay my head on her bed with her while she sleeps, she will put her paw on my face and stare at me. She is my bud. She bites my nose (gently). Only your friends can bite your nose.

Heather Goerdt
Heather and her cronies continue to email me. One in particular, a Sean, that likes to change it's user name to SeanLaw when it thought the 12 messages it sent me hadn't gone through so it quoted it's own text over and over trying to send the message and then just for affect, change it's user name from Sean to SeanLaw in an attempt to scare me but obviously didn't realize until it was too late that all the messages went through and I saw it's name change. Ridiculous.
I am making it very clear that for each person that continues to email and harrass me from heather's cronies, I will post Sable's story to another site. For each and every one. Simple.
As far as Heather goes. She's a liar. You can believe me or not, it's up to you. I have absolute proof of this cat's condition upon arrival. This simply doesn't happen in 3 hours. It just doesn't. She can lay blame on everyone else as is expected that she would. She certainly isn't going to admit to it under any circumstance because then everyone would know her for who she is. She will continue the lie hoping that I am going to go away but I'm not.
Ask this, why doesn't she sue me? What is the absolute defense to libel? The absolute defense to libel is the truth. That is why she doesn't sue me. I'm waiting. I've told her and her friends to sue me. I told her I want to see her court. If she is so right, why doesn't she sue me? Don't even tell me money. Her and puppy palace lady I'm sure could come up with the funds or maybe Sean today, SeanLaw in a minute, maybe he/she/it can do it? I have absolute proof. The evidence cannot be denied. Sable was cared for by multiple vets, multiple techs, multiple people kept her alive for 5 days. Does anyone honestly believe that 20 plus people conspired against a breeder they have never even met let alone even have her name?? Does anyone honestly believe that a cat becomes seriously infested by fleas on a 3 hour flight??? Animals get tapeworms from fleas, that doesn't happen in 3 hours either. Pneumonia doesn't happen in 3 hours. Flea anemia doesn't happen in 3 hours. A cat that weighs less than 5 pounds and is so thin that the vet actually notes that the cat is thin and underweight! I could feel all her bones quite clearly. that doesn't happen in 3 hours.
Heather had a "critically ill" cat about 2 weeks before Sable came here. She sent me an email about it. Should I post it? I have all of our emails. Absolute defense = truth. Where is her truth? Where is her proof other than out of her own mouth? If I said the earth was square, that doesn't make it true. but if I showed you the Earth was square...well then. Truth. She has none.
I am not one bit worried about Heather or her cronies suing me. She won't. She can't and she knows it. And if they do, I welcome it.

They say they have a clean cattery, so what, Sable was by herself and the only sick cat with fleas and pnemonia? All the other cats are okay? That doesn't say love either.

I cannot change Heather or her choices but she is what she is and Sable's records show without a doubt the condition she was in. Heather knew she was sick, she knew she had fleas - you couldn't miss it, she sent her anyway. She thought I would be quiet and take it. She was wrong and now she is doing damage control.
I deplore abusers or people that neglect their animals and allow them to suffer. Taking advantage of people is wrong. Hurting animals (intentional or otherwise) is wrong. If you make a mistake, you own up to it. You suck it in and you say I"m sorry and you do your best to make amends. That is the right thing to do. She refuses. Tomorrow I will wake up and know that I did the right thing. I took a very sick cat and did everything in my power to save her. I have worked hard to warn others so they don't fall into the same trap with Heather. Tomorrow Heather will wake up knowing what she did to Sable. Her husband knows it too. Her friends, probably know it. but everyday of her life, she will wake up knowing that she did the wrong thing and that she has had multiple opportunities to correct the situation and she has turned away at every chance and purpetrated lie and lie to cover it up. She gets to live with that and one day, it will bother her. I wake up proud that I took a cat that was treated so poorly and gave her a great shot at life whether or not Heather cares to right her wrong. I am proud of what I did for Sable. I am proud that I will not allow Heather to get away with this. There are some that looked the other way and they shouldn't have. I wouldn't be in this situation if they hadn't.
Again I ask, Heather give me proof. Let me contact Sable's vet before Dr. Kim and get her records. Show the world your proof that Sable was cared for.

To tell me that I didn't respond to you within 3 days and that it wasn't your problem, your vet signed the cert. BTW, your 3 day contractual limit won't hold up. I did respond via paypal including a complete list of what I knew was wrong with her at that time. No matter what form of communication I would have used, you would have denied you got it just as you have denied getting the paypal notice in time. Additionally, kind of hard to contact you so quickly when you are in and out of the animal hospital for at least 2 days with a dying cat. It won't get you off either way. You must adhere to Florida law. You cannot have someone sign away their rights, it is not valid.
Sound like someone that cares? You didn't even ask me about all the medical issues I listed. You didn't email to find out about all the medical issues I told you about. You didn't care if Sable was alive. Not your problem.
So while you can talk and talk and talk about how wronged you have been (never giving any real concern for Sable - the one you profess to love so much) and you talk and talk and talk about how innocent you are, show proof. Or is it that you have none?
I will continue on to let everyone know that I can about you and about what you did to Sable and what you did to me and hopefully I can save someone else from this mess. I will continue to pursue you in any way I can. I've only just begun. Do the right thing. I deplore abusers or people that neglect their animals and allow them to suffer. Taking advantage of people is wrong. Hurting animals (intentional or otherwise) is wrong. If you make a mistake, you own up to it. You suck it in and you say I"m sorry and you do your best to make amends. That is the right thing to do. She refuses. Tomorrow I will wake up and know that I did the right thing. I took a very sick cat and did everything in my power to save her. I have worked hard to warn others so they don't fall into the same trap with Heather. Tomorrow Heather will wake up knowing what she did to Sable. Her husband knows it too. Her friends, probably know it. but everyday of her life, she will wake up knowing that she did the wrong thing and that she has had multiple opportunities to correct the situation and she has turned away at every chance and purpetrated lie and lie to cover it up. She gets to live with that and one day, it will bother her. I wake up proud that I took a cat that was treated so poorly and gave her a great shot at life whether or not Heather cares to right her wrong. I am proud of what I did for Sable. I am proud that I will not allow Heather to get away with this. There are some that looked the other way and they shouldn't have. I wouldn't be in this situation if they hadn't.
Again I ask, Heather give me proof. Let me contact Sable's vet before Dr. Kim and get her records. Show the world your proof that Sable was cared for.

To tell me that I didn't respond to you within 3 days and that it wasn't your problem, your vet signed the cert. BTW, your 3 day contractual limit won't hold up. I did respond via paypal including a complete list of what I knew was wrong with her at that time. No matter what form of communication I would have used, you would have denied you got it just as you have denied getting the paypal notice in time. Additionally, kind of hard to contact you so quickly when you are in and out of the animal hospital for at least 2 days with a dying cat. It won't get you off either way. You must adhere to Florida law. You cannot have someone sign away their rights, it is not valid.
Sound like someone that cares? You didn't even ask me about all the medical issues I listed. You didn't email to find out about all the medical issues I told you about. You didn't care if Sable was alive. Not your problem.
So while you can talk and talk and talk about how wronged you have been (never giving any real concern for Sable - the one you profess to love so much) and you talk and talk and talk about how innocent you are, show proof. Or is it that you have none?
I will continue on to let everyone know that I can about you and about what you did to Sable and what you did to me and hopefully I can save someone else from this mess. I will continue to pursue you in any way I can. I've only just begun. Do the right thing. Unlike the choice you made, I have a sick cat to go give medicine too and am sick of your lies and foolishness. Getting attacked
I continue to be verbally attacked by ParadiseGoldenPuppies http://www.paradisegoldenretrievers.com/. This woman continues to post on this blog with very rude comments defending Heather's abuse. She has admitted to being Heather's friend. She also breeds dogs. What kind of breeder, given this proof, would condone the actions of Heather? Maybe one who believes this type of neglect and abuse are acceptable things to do to animals. I would say anyone considering one of her dogs should probably think about that. An ethical breeder would never condone the actions let alone make excuses and spread lies for a breeder like Heather Goerdt especially when given documented proof and pictures.

Recovering
Sable continues to recover and is doing well. She is a fighter for sure. I'm getting anywhere between 3 and 6 ounces of food in her and she seems perkier now. I'll be glad when I can feel more than bones and when she weighs a healthy weight.
She eats pretty good so long as I feed her so I am working on getting her to eat without me finger feeding her. In the last pic, she pulled my hand in to her bed and laid it down next to her. It was quite cute!

Nine pages of vet notes
My vets notes showing just how sick Sable was. This doesn't happen on a 2 hour plane flight. The vets first words..."breathing trouble, UNDERWEIGHT, just bought" Diarrhea with tapeworms segs in stool. and on and on it goes.

This vet took an obviously sick cat that according to him required antibiotics and gave it a rabies shot and a distemper shot. Heather makes claims on her blog that the cat just had a touch of sniffles and that was it. Her own vet refutes this by stating the cat had wheezing and a stuffy nose and required antibiotics.
